Born on May 29, 1947 in Saint-Marcellin, Rimouski County, I grew up in a family of 9 children. At the age of 16, I worked on the family farm until I was 24.
At the age of 24, in 1971, I left the family farm for Quebec City to work on construction. In September 1971, I met Francine Payette, who has been sharing my life ever since.
In the spring of 1973, with my brother Charles and my father Henri, we created the company: Henri Labbé et fils inc., excavation company, civil engineering and commercial snow removal.
For 42 years, I helped build the company, which employed 60 full-time employees, up to 120 in the high season.
From 2000 to 2014, the company helped develop residential land in the Notre Dame des Laurentides sector
In 2015, a well-deserved retirement proved necessary after all these years. Since then, I have shared my experience with my children, Eric and Marie-Christine, who, without a doubt, are walking in my foot steps while taking advantage of my experience that I wish to leave them.
For the past 6 years, I have been enjoying my winter retreat in the Florida sun, where I meet interesting people, which probably helps me to age healthy and spend the winter warm for several more years, I hope.
